I'm a networking and IT guy up in Wawa. I also do a fair amount of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic work — out here the person who sets up the network usually ends up being the same one fixing the generator, so over the years I've picked up most of it.
Day to day it's networks: designing them, wiring them, keeping them online. Wireless links, servers, routing — the boring parts that matter. When something physical breaks near the network, that tends to land on me too. Been at it about fifteen years now.
Partly for work and partly for the fun of it, I run a small autonomous system. Nothing huge — a handful of prefixes, a few peers, one IPv6 block — but it's mine and it routes real traffic. The looking glass is open if you like poking at that sort of thing.
When it's a job and not a hobby, it runs through my company — network design, installs, and keeping things online for people around here.
